SMS Sending error with Samsung S2 on Rogers LTE

While using the Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE on Rogers LTE network here in Canada (Toronto/Ontario), we seems to have a problem sending SMS. Each time we send an SMS we got a “failed” error posted right behind the message. The error is showing in the error screenshot on the side.

OK, after toying around for a while I have discovered that switching back to either 4G or 3G will resolve the problem. You can do that by following the below steps:

1- Go to Setting
2- Click on “Wireless and network”
3- Scroll down and go to “Mobile Networks”
4- Go to “Network Mode”
5- Change it to  “GSM/HSPA(Auto mode)” from the default which is “GSM/HSPA/LTE(Auto Mode)”

I know what you are thinking, you area already paying an extra 10-20 dollar to get on the LTE network & now I am telling you to switch it off if you want to send SMS. Well, some time reality is so painful & this is one of these cases. I have visited Rogers office & called support and said we have just to wait till their new LTE network is really ready. I guess we will be paying for them to fix & test their system!! Time to screem “YOUR LTE SUCKS. YOU HAVE MADE US WAIT FOR TOO LONG AND YOU STILL NOT READY!!!!!”

BlueAnt S3 Handsfree bluetooth car kit and Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE

BlueAnt S3 Handsfree bluetooth car kit does not work with Samsung S2

As many of you, we had a BlueAnt S3 Handsfree bluetooth car kit which we used to connect to our Google Nexus one phone. The BlueAnt S3 Handsfree car kit worked great for us for over 2 years with the Google Nexus One & was purchased for a very descent price. Though to our surprise when we tried to connect it to our Samsunge Galaxy S2 LTE phone which we just purchased few days back, it did not totally work out for us.

The devices pair and music could play through the BlueAnt S3 Handsfree car kit, but phone calls & VOIP calls does not play through the speaker. We were disappointed, but we had just take off our BlueAnt S3 Handfree car kit and hit the market for a new kit that work with the Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE as this kit firmware is not upgradable.

Although the BlueAnt S3 Handsfree car kit did not work with the Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE, we still suspect you probably get get the newer BlueAnt S4 Handsfree car kit to work for you specially it has an upgradable firmware.

We thought we will post this info here, in case you have got the Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE at the moment and considering to buy a BlueAnt S3 Handsfree car kit to save few bucks as its cheaper than the S4 and most other kits in the market.

I guess you have to shed the few bucks this time and try something else.

A few days ago Motorola has presented the Motorola Droid RAZR(Motorola RAZR) or Droid Droiz. The American company puts on the market a new model of the range that gave it so many hits, such as the Droid. In addition, Motorola are betting on Android , as demonstrated in their latest releases, the Admiral Motorola and the Motorola Atrix 2 , so we predict good sales for the new Motorola RAZR in the American, Canadian, European & rest of the world mobile market. Its interesting enough that it’s the first Android phone Motorola released after being acquired by Google. It seems the acquisition is really working well with the release of this Super Android Phone.

The Droid Razr has been released on October 27 on the U.S. Verizon’s Network. Rogers in Canada has it on pre-ordering & it should be hitting the European Market soon.

Finally the Nexus one car dock has arrived. I was happy when Google started shipping the Nexus One car dock. It is was an amazingly missing accessories for the Nexus one. It is not just a car holder but a real car dock with plenty of features.

The Nexus One car dock uses bluetooth to communicate with the Nexus One and automatically establishes a connection when the phone is inserted. The Car Home application is then launched with allows the user easy access to Maps and Navigation, Contacts, and Voice Search. Built-in speakers provide music playback and calls using the speakerphone.

The only thing I was hoping for Extra is to have an FM modulator, where it will play the music through the car stereo. Though the Car dock speakers are quite sufficient.

Can I use my phone with a Bluetooth headset while its in the Car Dock?

Yes. When you dock your phone for the first time, youll be prompted with a dialog box to select the docks audio settings. Just uncheck the “As speaker phone” option, and your phone will be able to pair with a Bluetooth headset. To change these settings later, go to Menu > Dock settings while Car Dock is running.

  

Can I connect my phone to my cars auxiliary jack while using the Car Dock?

Yes. The audio jack at the top of your phone is still functional even when the phone is docked. In this situation, we recommend keeping the “As speaker phone” option enabled so that the docks microphone is used for phone calls, since the phones built-in microphone isnt sensitive enough. Alternatively, you can choose to pair your phone with a Bluetooth headset.

Can I listen to music, turn on Google Navigation and answer calls at the same time?

You can, but only one sound source will play at a time. For example, if listening to music while using Google Navigation, your music will be temporary muted while a driving direction is played.

Can I use my phone with an A2DP compatible Bluetooth device for stereo audio while its in the Car Dock?

Yes. When you dock your phone for the first time, youll be prompted with a dialog box to select the docks audio settings. Just uncheck the “For music and media” option, and your phone will be able to pair with a Bluetooth stereo audio device. To change these settings later, go to Menu >Dock settings while Car Dock is running.

Can I insert another cigarette lighter power source into the dock?

No. The current and voltage ratings might not be the same. Please always use the included adapter.
